L'ilot Lumière

L'ilot lumière is a series of crocheted light objects that approach crochet as a sculptural practice rather than a decorative technique. Each piece evolves from the last, allowing form to emerge organically through accumulation and discovery, rather than preplanned design.

The works unfold through repetition and guiding principles, producing forms that do not imitate but echo shapes found in nature. Soft textile layers are stabilized into rigid structures, creating forms that feel both vulnerable and self-supporting. Light acts as an active element, filtering through surfaces and extending the sculpture into the surrounding space. Each object subtly shifts the atmosphere it inhabits.
